Our Patient Charter
Working together to provide the best possible care

We're pleased to welcome more NHS patients to our practice and are committed to providing care in a friendly, respectful and professional environment. As we welcome a high number of patients, demand for appointments may be high and waiting times may vary. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our team works to accommodate patients and provide the care they need.

We ask all patients to work with us by attending appointments on time, letting us know as early as possible if they need to cancel or rearrange, and treating our team and other patients with courtesy and respect.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour. Our team has the right to work in a safe environment, and this behaviour will not be accepted. Any incidents will be managed in line with our practice policies and applicable NHS guidance.

Our commitment is to treat patients with dignity and respect, communicate clearly about their care and work together to make each visit as positive as possible.

NHS DENTAL CHARGES & EXEMPTIONS

Understanding NHS dental charges

NHS dental treatment isn't always free

Although NHS dental treatment is subsidised, most adults are required to pay towards their treatment unless they qualify for an exemption or help with costs.

In England, NHS dental charges are divided into three bands, depending on the treatment required:

  • Band 1: £27.90 – examinations, diagnosis and preventive care, including X-rays where clinically needed.

  • Band 2: £76.60 – includes Band 1 treatment plus treatments such as fillings, root canal treatment and extractions.

  • Band 3: £332.10 – includes Band 1 and 2 treatment plus more complex treatment such as crowns, dentures and bridges.

These are the charges effective from 1 April 2026. Your dentist will explain the recommended treatment and the applicable charge before treatment begins.  You may be entitled to free NHS dental treatment or help towards the cost. Check whether you qualify for help with NHS dental costs

Do you believe you are entitled to free NHS dental treatment or help with NHS dental charges? Not sure if you're eligible? Check the NHS eligibility criteria for free dental treatment and help with dental costs by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-service
