Fixed Braces

Fixed braces consist of brackets attached to the front of your teeth, which are made from metal or tooth-coloured ceramic. The treatment lasts for 12-24 months, depending on the initial positioning of your teeth and your desired outcome.

What does the treatment involve?

At your initial appointment, we will discuss your ideal end result. We will then take photographs and impressions of your teeth to create your treatment plan and ensure you are happy with this.

At your fitting appointment, we will fix your braces to the front of your teeth. You may experience some mild discomfort and soreness for 3-5 days after this, which can be managed with painkillers.

You will need to visit every 4-6 weeks so we can adjust your brace and check the treatment is going as planned. It is important to also visit for your regular check-up and hygiene appointments during your treatment.

Once the treatment is complete, we will remove your braces and provide your custom-made retainer. Your retainer is essential to ensure your teeth stay in their new straighter positions, and we advise it is worn on a part-time basis for as long as you wish your teeth to remain straight.

Cosmetic Tooth Alignment

If you want straight teeth but don’t like the look of traditional fixed braces, we can offer more aesthetic tooth straightening options at Remarkable Smiles. Invisible fixed braces can be attached to the back of your teeth, meaning only you need to know you are wearing them! The treatment lasts around 6-9 months.

Invisalign

Children’s Orthodontics
