What does the treatment involve?

Dental implant treatment can be quite a lengthy process, involving several appointments, but the end result makes it all worthwhile. At your initial consultation, we will go through your treatment plan in detail and give you an idea of how long we expect your treatment will take.

We will carry out a full examination and assessment, ensuring you are a suitable candidate for implants. In some cases, there may not be enough bone density in your jaw for the implant to fuse to, so we may suggest a bone graft to replenish this. We use x-rays and digital images and scans to accurately plan the best position for your implant.

At your fitting appointment, we will place the dental implant into your jaw, using local anaesthetic to ensure you are comfortable throughout. Over the next few months, the titanium implant will bond firmly to your jawbone, forming a strong support.

After your implant has fully fused and healed, we will fit your replacement teeth, giving you a full smile again! This is the stage we look forward to, as seeing our patients delighted with their end result and so proud of their new smile is so important to us.

Looking after your implants

Your implants will look and function just like your natural teeth. With an excellent oral hygiene routine and regular check ups with the dentist, they should cause you no issues and last a very long time.
